Hello Friends,
I'm Dee, creator and artist behind Wylder Things Art Studio. In 2021 my husband and I moved to a home on a river surrounded by woods. There’s a tiny cabin near the house and it has become the work in progress for the offline studio.
Up to that point, my journey as an artist, small business owner, and job creator evolved and shaped the path I am on today. My job title has changed over the years, but being an artist has always defined who I am.
I had been drawing from a very early age but didn’t really start painting until I was a young mom in the early years of the internet. So, the years to come were very exciting, with more and more learning from home becoming so easily accessible. I have since been a serial course taker, exploring every medium and technique available. My dedication has led me to spend countless hours creating and refining my work. About five years ago, I decided to focus on works I could start and finish more quickly and to become more prolific, which then led me to discover a love for art journaling and also junk journaling our
My art also combines my love for painting with my fascination and passion for magical, wild, and whimsical things—elaborating on fairy tales and painting and storytelling about the curious and fantastical travels.
For the next part of my journey, I’m joining the online art community I love so much and from whom I have benefited so much. I would love to give back and curate and mentor the artistic journeys of other artists who are just starting out, as well as more seasoned artists looking to bring back more fun and purpose into their work and to help pass along what they know and love. Creatures you might find hidden in nature, in the woods, or near the sea.
